Acupuncture focuses on Qi ("Chi").  Qi is energy that runs through the body.  This energy travels through the body by channels called meridians.  There are 12 main meridians in the body and 8 secondary meridians.  Disease is one way energy can be disrupted through the meridians.  Meridians coduct energy between the surface of the body and its internal organs.  Each point has a different effect on the Qi that passes through it.

Acupuncture is a technique that uses thin needles to stimulate points on the body to prevent or treat illness.  Acupuncture does not rely on needles alone but also on electro meridian imaging.  Meridian therapy is a more appropriate name for this Chinese method of therapy and can be administered in many ways.

The Chiropractic Acupuncture Health Center offers the following Acupuncture techniques:
  • Needle
  • Electrical EMI
  • Cupping
  • Ghua` Sha
  • Reflexology
For an Acupuncture treatment, the first visit usually takes 45 minutes to an hour.  New patients must complete paperwork and a physical exam is usually required.  The first time visit fee is $89 (includes exam and treatment).  Subsequent Acupuncture treatments are $40.
